When More is Not Enough! This is Amy’s big day!
Have you ever dreamed of giving your gifts away. If I ever make enough money, I’d love to… well Amy didn’t wait. ALL proceeds of her book are going to Transformation Village, a housing ministry for women and children founded by Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministries. That extravagant generosity is Amy, and you will love her book.
She empowers us all to be givers and to raise givers with her smart, compassionate and funny voice. She gives birth on the side of the road, converses with imaginary critics and struggles through her daughters first years on permanent oxygen. Her journey to generosity is transparent, honest and down-to-earth.
God wanted more. He expected it. God desired to take what we saw as ours and turn it into his.”
Amy encourages us to leave behind the term youth entitlement. She offers practical ideas for our world, our community and in our home. I especially love the dinner table dialogue sections.
She also goes beyond the most often shared service ideas and challenges our hearts to serve through forgiveness, prayer and rest. What a beautiful invitation, that in order to serve we must rest. We must pray. And we must be ready to offer forgiveness. Providing rest, service and prayer for others is also an act of service.
This kind of heart shaping, deeply loving, extravagantly generous service shapes a beautiful life. We know this from the voice and life of Amy.
I’ll be giving away TWO copies of the book!

Thank you, thank you for the awesome highlight and for your encouragement through this entire process. The online world is so, so big. I’m so, so thankful we have connected. I’m looking forward to the day when all of the celebrating is for Y-O-U!
I’m looking forward to buying you that dessert in a few weeks 🙂 You did it!!!
What a fabulous giveaway – I am SO excited about this book! My greatest giving dream is more a feeling than a goal, and it’s hard to put into words. But I guess it boils down to this – I want this world to be a little bit better, a little bit kinder, a little more gentle because of my life. If I can encourage people to live with their eyes and hearts and arms open … What greater tribute to my life can I think of? Congratulations, Amy – I can’t wait to read this book!
Thank you, thank you! Thrilled you stopped by to read and comment!
a little more gentle… I like that 🙂
I would love my kids to be givers and have a servants heart. I find it hard to think of ways to do this and to get beyond making them give to them wanting to give.
I want that too… it isn’t the easiest thing though. I think you model it beautifully. This is really great place to start. She has really practical ideas.
I get stuck sometimes too! It’s often hard for me to think beyond some of the more obvious ways of serving. I must say, that’s one thing I enjoy about the internet, people LOVE to share ideas. Thanks for reading.
So looking forward to reading this book — thank you for hosting this giveaway! One of my favorite giving examples has been from some friends of mine in South Africa, who started the “Egg on Toast Fund.” Instead of going out to eat each weekend as a group of friends, they would go to someone’s house to have eggs on toast instead. The money they saved from not eating at at a restaurant was used to support missionary friends.
I wrote about it here: http://www.ibelieve.com/food-home/giving-more-without-spending-more.html
Congratulations, Amy, on your book release!
What a cool idea, especially since eggs and toast are cheap! Thanks for taking the time to share about it, Kate. I can’t wait to check out your post.
I love that idea and your article! Good stuff.
Yay! Love you amy!
THANK YOU, girl!
Well done, Amy!
Thank you, so much!
