This week my family is visiting our Iowa family.
Twelve hours one way…
We have had a lot of adventures in the car; being lost, snowstorms, traffic jams, and the rest spot where Josiah somehow went to the bathroom in the hood of his sweatshirt.
…and cornfields continuing on into forever.
The moment we pile out of the car into the presence of those people we love so much in life, every minute in the car was worth it. (Yes, even the moments involving vomit and fishing happy meal toys out of a truck stop toilet.)
Wrong turns, long periods stretching forward impatiently, roadblocks, and feeling lost are all moments we experience in life.
We know who is waiting for us on the other side, though. Jesus.
That hope is enough. That hope sustains us.
